blog post week 10 : writing

WALT show our writing Skills

I am blogging this because I like reading and writing stories
We were learning to show our writing skills.

What counts (Success Criteria for all writing choices):
  • structure our writing with a beginning, middle and end
  • best possible words
  • makes sense
  • different sentence starters
  • paragraphs (especially important for beginning, middle and end)

I try to use a ‘hook’ at the beginning
One day a pirate sailed the seven seas. He had a girl on board that he stole from a peaceful island. On the island there was a messenger who delivered messages all over the island. The messenger came to the girls house. The message said
“Dear mum and dad,
I am on a pirate ship. I am sailing the seven seas right now so I wont be back for a while.”
“We need to hire a genius so we can track down that ship and get our girl back” says dad in high voice.
Five minutes later
“Okay, let's get this straight. I have to track down a pirate ship?” said the genius confused
“Yes thats exactly we want you to do” said mum.
“Easy. It's too easy to track down a pirate ship. That pirate ship is on a island near here. Only one hundred meters away from here”said the genius.
“Let's get to work now. We have to make a boat to get to the island to get our girl back” shouts dad.
Woosh woosh woosh woosh woosh was the sound of the water being swooshed by the paddle.
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
“Oh no! There's a whale in the boat” shouts mum and dad. “DON'T WORRY, I WILL SAVE YOU” said a giant. “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh a giant!” shouted mum.
“NO NO NO I AM HERE TO HELP GRAB ON”
“ok!! thank you we need to go to the island with a pirate ship on it” mum told the giant.
“OKAY LET'S GET YOU TO THAT ISLAND” said the giant.
Five minutes later.
“WE ARE HERE”said the giant
“Thank you” said mum “NO PROBLEM” said the giant.
“Mother, father is that you?” said the girl. “Mum, dad, I missed you so much”said the girl.

“We missed you too” said mum and dad. And they lived happily ever after.
